What exactly is responsive web design?
Responsive Website Design is nothing new, back in the day tablet based designers either chose the fluid or static route. Today’s responsive websites take a comparable approach by using fluid widths in percentages and ems. They do not stop, but take a step further by using scalable images and adjustable layouts. All of which is based on what kind or screen-size you are using while browsing the desired website. There are three very important elements in responsive web design.
- Flexible Layouts
- Flexible Images
- Media Queries

Nice list of websites! I’m curious how you went about deciding which websites to use as examples. One website that comes to mind for me is the Lollapalooza website.

Interesting collection with examples of sites using responsive designs. Too bad these are all custom made. It’s hard to find such a design among any free templates site.

Being more flexible can result to increase in page load time. Yet this responsiveness makes the site design definitely more friendly to readers.

These days responsive website designs are loved more than the normal ones as they display your website in a more presentable way to all the user agents according to their screen sizes.
From users perspective these designs are more user friendly as user always sees the website as something that is well designed according to his screen resolution and size.

I am going to discuss with our webdesigners how difficult it would be to make our site responsive. I think it was breifly discussed between us before, but I did not understand the benefits until seeing the examples here. Thanks for the visual examples.
